Marina Goren is the Founder, President, and CEO of Smart BD Consulting and has more than 15 years of Business Development and Proposal winning experience backed by an additional 10 years of Technical and Program Management experience. While successfully running and growing Smart BD, Ms. Goren continues to support her clients in pioneering new frontiers and winning large strategic bids. She has been personally involved in key strategic roles leading to billions of dollars in wins for her clients over the past few years. Ms. Goren teaches several Proposal and Capture courses each year and continues to be an active presenter at annual Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) Conferences since 2014.
Prior to starting Smart BD Consulting, Ms. Goren was Vice President of Business Development at ASRC Primus and helped grow the company’s footprint from 2 to more than 1,600 employees in just over 5 years.
Prior to ASRC, Ms. Goren was a Senior Manager at Raytheon Information Solutions where she had both operational and Business Development responsibilities. While at Raytheon, Ms. Goren earned several highly recognized awards and honors including Technical Excellence Award and was placed on a “High Potential” career path toward an Executive Leadership role within the company.
Before Raytheon, Ms. Goren held a variety of progressively responsible Technical, Program, and Project Management positions with both large and small IT companies in Federal and Commercial sectors, including Wachovia and IBM. While at IBM, Ms. Goren had the privilege of working at best-in-class Technical R&D facilities such as Watson and Almaden Research Centers. During her career at Aether Systems and at IBM, Ms. Goren was a part of the teams that authored and successfully filed two technical patents.
Ms. Goren has a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science from Northwestern University and held various technical certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, and Six Sigma. She has undergone formal Shipley training for Capture and Proposal Development. She continues to be an active member of industry forums such as APMP
