If you are coming to the MAC, I hope to see you at 1 p.m. at my presentation, “Pioneering the New Proposal Frontiers – First Break All the Rules.”

Abstract: Throughout history, humankind has had an innate trait that led to navigating the seas, discovering new lands, and exploring space. Those who were willing to conquer the next hill ended up discovering new frontiers and went down in history as pioneers. Pioneers made their dreams become reality despite the inherent hazards or risks involved in their journeys. Similarly, today’s procurements are reaching new horizons. Customers are looking for innovative solutions and applying new procurement techniques. Proposal professionals are faced with new challenges: “How do you produce a 300+ page proposal for building the first commercial space station within 30 days?” “How do you ace an in-person technical demonstration with unannounced topics and goals?” A common trait that continues to define successful proposal pioneers is a willingness to accept the inherent new challenges and embrace them with new approaches. This presentation will use real proposal stories to illustrate experimental techniques used for developing winning proposals of the future. It will add a few new tools to the toolbox of any experienced proposal professional, but most of all, it is meant to inspire thinking out of the box and breaking some old rules.
